North Reading Man Arrested Following Scene at Market Basket
Police were dispatched to check on a man who was reportedly intoxicated and staggering around the store.

were dispatched to on Endicott Street, on report of an intoxicated man staggering around the store at 1:37 p.m. on Tuesday.
Joel Laskin, 37, of 4 Judith Drive in North Reading was arrested on charges of illegal possession of a knife and three counts of possession of class B substances.
When police arrived at Market Basket, an employee told them the man in question had knocked over a sign, and was yelling at another employee, according to the police report.

Laskin, who according to court records had slurred speech and wasn't making sense, had a warrant from the Salem District Court for possession of class A and class C drugs.
After placing handcuffs on Laskin, police found a small plastic bag of Suboxone and Adderal, as well as a rolled marijuana joint in his pocket.

Laskin was arraigned at Salem District Court on Wednesday, May 2 and was held on a $500 bail. He will return to court on May 23.
