UPDATE: Police Say Football Fundraiser Is Legitimate
Several residents received phone calls about a Danvers High football fundraiser.

UPDATE: The possible scam been deemed a legitimate fundraiser by the Danvers Police. The Danvers High School Football Boosters are hosting a comedy night on May 19 and have been soliciting donations for advertising space in the event's program.
are warning residents about a potential fake football fundraiser.
"Multiple reports [have been] received today of phone solicitations for Danvers Football," the department stated on their Facebook page and through a Nixle alert.

The caller is telling residents the costs are $100 to be a platinum sponsor, $50 for a gold sponsor, or offers two free tickets for lesser donations.
At the time, police said neither , nor the Danvers Football or youth football teams, have any involvement in a fundraiser at the moment.
