Should Liquor Stores Be Open on Thanksgiving in Danvers?

A bill before the legislature could mean just that, but liquor store owners say it's not worth the time away from family. What do you think?

There are currently only three days a year liquor stores in Massachusetts are required to be closed per state law: Memorial Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, but that could soon change.

A bill is before the Legislature this week looking to make the mandatory closing on Thanksgiving optional and liquor store owners aren’t liking it one bit. In fact, several testified at Tuesday’s hearing on House Bill 190 which would eliminate Thanksgiving Day as a day stores could not open.

Several liquor store owners have come out against the bill, according to the Boston Metro, saying any business they would do on Thanksgiving Day wouldn’t be worth the loss of family time.
