Small Fire at Mackey Funeral Home Quickly Extinguished
The fire broke out just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday night.
The battled a small blaze on the first floor of just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday night.
Dan Mackey, whose family owns the funeral home, told the Salem News, there were no injuries to report, but damage occurred near a secondary entrance on the left side of the building.
Initial scanner reports stated the fire was visible from outside when the first units arrived on scene at approximately 9:45 p.m. Several onlookers watched from across the street, but traffic was blocked from to the intersection at Chase Street.

Beverly, Peabody, and Wenham departments covered the station while Engines 1, 2, and 3 were on scene at the funeral home.
