St. John's Prep Student Competes in National Spelling Bee
Grab your dictionary and cheer on Mitchell Robson, one of four Massachusetts students participating in this year's competition.

Danvers, MA - Bust out those dictionaries and tune in to ESPN 3 this week to cheer on Danvers' own Mitchell Robson, one of four Massachusetts students competing in the 2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Preliminary rounds start today in National Harbor, MD, and the final competition gets underway Thursday morning.
Robson, 14, is in the eighth grade at St. John's Preparatory School.

Here are this year's other Bay State competitors:
- Emily J. Sun: age 13, 7th grade, Boston Latin School, Boston
- Lela Ann Festa: age 14, 8th grade, Immaculate Heart of Mary School, Still River
- Sam Fetters: age 11, 6th grade, West Tisbury School, West Tisbury
Only one Massachusetts student has won the National Spelling Bee since its inception in 1925, according to the Scripps site.

Last year's competition saw a tie, with two winning words: "cherenschnitte" and "nunatak."
