Two-Alarm Fire Reported In Danvers

DANVERS, MA — Fire fighters contained a two-alarm fire in a three-story building at 20 Locust Street in Danvers Sunday afternoon, according to scanner reports.

Smoke and fire could be seen coming out of the building, which is under renovation.

In 2018, Danvers officials approved the redevelopment of the 40,537-square-foot property into a 24-unit apartment building with retail and commercial space along Locust Street. The building was constructed in the mid-1880s and is part of the town's effort to convert industrial buildings into mixed-used developments.
