Who Won the Topsfield Fair Cookie Celebration?
When it comes to cookies, there are no losers. But this mother/son duo from Gloucester took home the blue ribbon.
TOPSFIELD, MA – Kadin and Sherri Lewis of Gloucester won this year's Topsfield Fair Parent and Child Cookie Celebration. Contestants made an Ice Cream Shoppe Chocolate Chip Cookie, per the theme of the competition, and were judged on flavor, texture, appearance, and originality.
Lance Ponikyar and his mother Sara, both of Topsfield, came in second place in the cookie celebration. They won a red ribbon and a $15 gift certificate from Goodies Ice Cream in Danvers.

Two Billerica residents took the cake in the Favorite Pound Cake Contest, sponsored by King Arthur Flour. Lorretta Steel took first place, and won a $75 gift certificate to the Baker's Catalogue. Donna Buckland won second place, and was awarded a $50 gift certificate to the Baker's Catalogue.
Pauline Taylor of Lynn won third place in the Favorite Pound Cake Contest, based on the cake's overall appearance, texture, and flavor. Taylor won a cake and brownie pan and a ribbon.
