33 Framingham School Employees Retiring

For more than five decades, Terry Salls has been teaching children how to read as a Title 1 teacher in the Framingham Public Schools.

The Brophy Elementary Title 1 teacher will retire this month, with 51 years of service.

Salls was one of 33 district employees honored with a reception and a certificate at the Framingham School Committee meeting Tuesday night.

“This is a bittersweet moment,” said Framingham School Committee Chair Beverly Hugo.

Hugo said she was happy for each retiree, as they embark on their next adventure, but that each will be “sorely missed.”

Among the retirees was a husband and wife team, a first said Hugo.

Stacy Young and Phillip Young retire with a combined 45 years of service.

Mrs. Young has taught in the Framingham Public Schools since 1994, as an assistant special educator. Most recently she worked at Brophy Elementary and previously at Stapleton Elementary. Mr. Young has worked for Building & Grounds and retirees with 24 years of service.

Hugo offered her “heartfelt appreciation” to each retiree and wished each “continued happiness” in their future endeavors.
