Xanadu opens at Amazing Things Arts Center tonight, Boston television station broadcasting from Framingham this morning, and more in today's

1. Fox25 will be broadcasting from Cushing Memorial Park this morning between 6 and 10 a.m., as part of its Zip Trip.

They will present Framingham resident Charlie Rousseau with the Boston television station’s Hometown Hero award during the broadcast.

2. The Town of Framingham will defend its Mile Swim title this afternoon in Natick at 1 p.m. Framingham will send 5 female and 5 male swimmers in the pond for the annual event.

3. Just a reminder, Framingham municipal offices will close at 1 p.m. today, as part of the Town of Framingham’s new summer hours programming. This does not include the Framingham library and its branch which will stay open until 5 p.m.

4. Love the music of the Beatles? Then, you want to attend tonight’s Framingham Parks & Recreation summer concert on the Framingham Centre Common. Studio Two will take the stage, weather permitting at, 6:30 for a free 2-hour performance.

5. Xanadu opens at Amazing Things Arts Center tonight. Moonstruck Theater Company brings the 80’s movie to downtown Framingham. Based on the cult-classic Olivia Newton-John film, the musical follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first roller disco! But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation and chaos abounds. Tickets are still available and range from $13 to $25.
