UPDATED: 5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: July 30

National cheesecake day deal, library fundraiser at Friendly's, and Framingham Farmers' Market open today.

1. Today is National Cheesecake Day. The Cheesecake Factory is celebrating by offering guests who dine-in at any of its 163 locations, including the Natick Mall, any slice of cheesecake for half price. The deal is limited to one slice of cheesecake per dine-in guest.

Friendly’s, only the Framingham location, will donate 20 percent of all checks to the Library, as long as you present a voucher dated for the Thursday that you visits. Vouchers are good on both dine-in and takeout orders.

3. Tonight’s meeting has been cancelled. The meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 6

The second meeting of the Framingham Skate Park Advisory Committee is scheduled for tonight, July 30 at 7 on location at Farm Pond. The Committee plans to hold its next three meetings, including tonight’s on location, at potential skate park sites.

Town Meeting created the Committee, which elected Selectman Jason Smith as chair, this spring. The Committee was given $50,000 and tasked with identifying a site for a skate park in Framingham. The public is invited to attend any meeting. Click here for more details.

4. The Framingham Farmers’ Market will be open today from noon to 5:30 p.m. on the Framingham Centre Common.

5. The Framingham History Center will host magician Jo-Jo today at 10:30 a.m. as part of its free family programming. The event takes place at Edgell Memorial Library.

BONUS: The Framingham Frogs will compete against the Natick Neptunes tonight at 6 at Dug Pond in Natick, weather permitting. The Frogs will be going for its eighth victory of the summer season. The Framingham Frogs are the co-ed Framingham Parks & Recreation swim team.
