5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: October 7
Framingham DPW meeting on Walnut Street project and Framingham First meeting in Saxonville tonight.

1. Framingham First, a group of residents who have started a ballot initiative to change Framinghamβs town charter, will hold its next community meeting in Saxonville tonight at 7:30 at Art House Grille (62 Water Street). The event is free and open to the public.
2. Framingham DPW will hold a meeting tonight on its Walnut Street project. The meeting starts at 7 at the Memorial Building in the Ablondi Room. Public meeting will explain proposed utility improvement plans for a new wastewater pump station on Walnut Street.

4. FLYERS in action:

- Boys soccer tied Weymouth 1-1 on Tuesday

Today both the boys and girls cross-country teams have away meets in Needham today at 3:45 p.m.

- Marian High girls volleyball has a match at against St. Joeβs at home at 5:30 p.m.
5. Over the weekend, Framingham police officers and firefighters participated in a Taco eating contest charitable event sponsored by Margaritaβs restaurant, raising money for βCops For Kids With Cancer.β Despite a courageous effort by the officers, the firefighters were victorious.
