8th Grade Football Team Loses to Weymouth in High-Scoring Game
Next week, the Flyers have their final home game of the season against Brockton.

The Grade 8 FYFC football game started off with a bang, when Weymouth returned the first kickoff for a touchdown and made the score 6-0.

Framingham then went on their first drive but couldnβt score despite good running by Shane Ayotte. Andrew Keane and Charlie Stokes had several tough defensive plays on the Wildcats next drive.
However, Weymouth eventually found the end zone to make the score 14-0.

Later in the second quarter, the Flyer offense began to move well when Jack Beverley had a great pass down the middle of the field to Sam Stubbs.
A few plays later, this promising drive ended when Weymouth intercepted a Framingham pass and took control of the ball.
Weymouth added one more touchdown to their lead before halftime and made the score 20-0.
Beverley had a stellar 33-yard pass to a wide open Andrew Keane on the Flyersβ first set of plays in the second half.
Beverley there a short touchdown pass to Jack Corsi on the same drive and the score was now 20-8.
Despite this, Weymouth responded to Framingham with a 40-yard touchdown run which increased their lead to 26-8.
This back-and forth trend of scores continued on the Flyersβ next set of plays.
Ayotte broke loose with a 20-yard run, Keane had a long pass to Beverley, and Jordan Ortiz had a 6-yard touchdown run to finish off the drive.
Early in the 4th quarter, Weymouthβs lead increased to 34-14 after their 10-yard touchdown pass.
Even though the Flyers were down by 20 points, they refused to give up and kept fighting.
Beverly continued to show his talented passing ability by throwing a 70-yard touchdown to Sam Stubbs.
When the Flyers recovered an onside kick, the crowd could sense a comeback in the making. Framingham unfortunately couldnβt score after the onside kick, but Matt Giovine had an interception with 3:46 left in the 4th quarter to give Framingham the ball again.
Despite lots of effort by the Flyer offense, they couldnβt score for the rest of the game on the tough Weymouth defense. The Wildcats had one more touchdown and the final score of the game was 42-22 in favor of Weymouth.
Next week, the Flyers have their final home game of the season against Brockton.
