AAA: Gas Prices Drop 6 Cents

A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was 96 cents higher at $3.62.

Good news for daytrippers for the second consecutive week this summer gas prices have fallen, according to AAA Northeast, which has an office in Framinghamon Route 9.

AAA’s July 20 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.66 per gallon, down six cents from last week.

Prices locally are 10 cents less than a month ago.

The current price is 10 cents less than the national average for self-serve unleaded of $2.76.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 56 cents, from a low of $2.39 to a high of $2.95. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every trip, every time.
