1. MEET GRONK: New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will be in town this morning to sign copies of his book ‘It’s Good to Be Gronk’ at BJ’s Wholesale Club.

2. GO FOR A SWIM: The town’s trio of public beaches will be open today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Beach tags are required to use the beaches. They can be purchased on site. If you are looking for a less crowded atmosphere, Belknap Pool & Tennis Club is holding an open house today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The club is by membership only and is limited to 125 families. 3. COOL OFF WITH AN ICE CREAM (OR TWO): Friendly’s is celebrating National Ice Cream Day (Sunday, July 19), with a deal! The Friendly’s on Temple Street in Framingham will offer a special $1.99 buy one, get one free offer that includes a single scoop of ice cream served in either a cone or in a dish. Starts at 11 a.m. and continues through closing.

4. FOLLOW THE ROAD TO WESTON: Okay, it’s not in Framingham but ... The Weston Drama Workshop will stage the Wizard of Oz for today at 2 p.m. Framingham High teacher Chris Brindley is the director and producer and Framingham High junior Jordana Kagan plays Dorothy Gale. Another Framingham High teen Andrew Caira is the Tin Man, and several other Framingham kids are in the cast. It’s a high-flying take on the classic musical. There are two more shows this week on the campus of Regis College in Weston. Tickets are still available at www.ticketstage.com $12 for children age 12 and under and $17 for adults.

5. GO SHOPPING: It is Framingham Youth Football & Cheer (FYFC) days at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Natick this weekend. Shop at the Route 9 store today, and with the attached coupon get 20 percent off your needed gear. Practice starts in a couple of weeks!
