In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson first officially proclaimed June 14 as Flag Day in the United States.Decades later, Congress officially established June 14 as Flag Day.On Sunday,The Framingham Lodge of Elks #1264 will hold a community Flag Day Celebration.The event starts at 11:30 a.m.A flag ceremony is scheduled for noon.Framingham Girl Scout Helen Scanlon, a Cadette Scout in Troop 72082, will sing the National Anthem.Afterwards, everyone is invited to stay for a cookout. Lunch is free for the kids.The event ends at 3 p.m.
