The Framingham High School girls swim and dive team knew they would have a tough season ahead of them right from the start. However, the girls on the team, both new and returning, have shown tremendous dedication and determination throughout the swim season. From early-morning weekend practices to kickboxing once a week, the girls have pushed through to become the very best they can be.

The girls started the season with a winning streak.
Ursuline, Dedham, Braintree, Weymouth, and Boston Latin all fell to head coach Michael Foleyβs Flyers.
The winning streak was broken when the girls went up against Needham at a home meet on October 2.
While the Flyers had some amazing swims, Needham won the match and broke their winning streak.
After the meet against Needham was the Coaches Invitational Swim Meet, a gathering of seven swim teams at Atkinson pool. The Flyers took fourth place, with Acton Boxboro in first, Newton North in second, and Central Catholic in third.
Next came Wellesley, and a tie of 83-83. The Flyers had lost the home-field advantage, but pushed through to swim hard even after an exhausting week of practices.
At an away meet against Newton North, the girls found themselves losing once again. They came out of yet another tiring practice and still swam their hardest.
The Flyers found themselves back on track when they beat Walpole Tuesday, October 13. Walpole, a coed team, ended up winning many of the events. However, with the Flyers placing second, third, and fourth in just as many events, Framingham quickly took and held the lead.
On Friday Oct. 16, the girls face another challenge: Acton Boxboro. AB took first at the coaches invitational, and may be the best team that the girls will swim against. However, like all the other challenges that Foleyβs Flyers have faced before, it is undoubtable that they will face AB with great energy and great attitudes.
The end of the season is quickly approaching.
After Acton Boxboro, the girls have Norwood on the Oct. 20, Brookline on Oct. 23, Natick on Oct. 27, and Marshfield on the Oct. 29.
Foleyβs Flyers will surely keep up the amazing perseverance and hard work that theyβve been putting in since day one. The season isnβt over yet.
Go Flyers!
