Framingham Public School is advertising for a βDirector of Cradle to College and Career Readiness.β
The Director would be βresponsible for ensuring systemic planning and collaboration across all Framingham High School departments and all pre-K to 8 schools and departments in the public school district in support of a college and career-ready systemic culture in Framingham.
The Director, who would report to the districtβs Chief Academic Officer Sonia Diaz, would βassist with the implementation of a comprehensive, consistent social-emotional health curriculum.

The position would pay $85,000 to $87,000.
The newly-hired director would βwork with students and staff, including school counselors and school leaders to ensure that Framingham High graduates are fully ready for post-secondary success. The Director will ensure that all students in Framingham are prepared for their post-secondary plans.β

The job description includes leading discussions and establishing a program with benchmarks for dual enrollment with local colleges and universities.
Framingham High already has a dual-enrollment program with both Framingham State University and MassBay Community College, in which Framingham High students can take classes at both high education institutions and earn college credits.
The Director would also be responsible for establishing βlinkages with Keefe Technical School and the McAuliffe Charter Schoolβ in Framingham.
The director, according to the post job description, would be expected to:
β’ Establish a powerful vision around cradle to college and workforce readiness
β’ Manage partnership conversations to create a framework around internships and dual enrollment
β’ Address career orientation in grades 6-8 including discussions around internships and partnerships with a focus on Level 3 schools
β’ Conduct analysis of AP results both matriculation and testing
β’ Establish data points that identify students who are at most risk for dropping out or who are academically at risk
β’ Work closely with school counseling programs at all levels to identify options designed to connect career development and work based learning experiences connected with school success
β’ Lead discussions and establish a program with benchmark for dual enrollment with local colleges and universities
β’ Establish linkages with Keefe Technical School and the McAuliffe Charter School
β’ Create opportunities for students K-12 to be more aware of college and career opportunities
He or she would be responsible for:
β’ Collaborate with Framinghanm High School Counseling Department Head, the Principals and academic Department Heads in the creation or identification and the implementation of a school-wide CCR curriculum as required by DESE and as part of the district improvement plan.
β’ Collaborate with District leadership, Elementary and Middle School Counselors in the development or identification of a comprehensive CCR curriculum at the elementary and middle grades.
β’ Oversee and monitor the training for and the implementation of the CCR curriculum, K-12
β’ Ensure at least one career-related event takes place in every FPS school each year.
β’ Provide input into annual revisions of FHSβs Program of Studies as it relates to CCR.
β’ Collaborate with Principal at FHS to implement a class in the school schedule for SEL curriculum to be taught to students
β’ Establish CCR data collection procedures and processes in collaboration with academic department chairs, Special Education, CTE and ELL Departments in order to develop differentiated programming that is supportive and responsive to each studentβs needs.
β’ Collaborate with the Director of Health and Wellness, the FHS Department Head of School Counseling, district Social Workers, health educators, and other essential personnel in the implementation of a school-wide SEL curriculum, as recommended by DESE and the Massachusetts School Counselors Association, as well as the FPS district improvement plan.
β’ Collaborate with Principal at FHS to implement a class in the school schedule for SEL curriculum to be taught to students
β’ Collaborate with District leadership, Elementary and Middle School Counselors in development of a comprehensive SEL curriculum at the elementary and middle grades.
β’ Oversee and monitor the training for and the implementation of the SEL curriculum, K-12
β’ Establish procedures in collaboration with academic department chairs, Special Education, CTE and ELL Departments in order to develop differentiated programming that is supportive and responsive to student needs.
β’ Program oversight and Professional Development for SEL curriculum training, roll-out and implementation
β’ Appropriate professional development to stay current in the field of school counseling, to include memberships to associations and attendance at local and national conferences
β’ Provide a clear organizational structure for CCR functions. Maintain current descriptions of roles and functions for all staff members.
β’ Collaborate with School Counseling Department Head in providing leadership for department meetings, developing a professional development agenda that meets the needs of the FHS School Counseling staff, in college planning and the use of technology to guide this practice. Organize and conduct department meetings, workshops, and professional development as required for use of the college application software.
β’ Apply CCR data collection to enhance program effectiveness.
β’ Collaborate with district personnel in promoting college and career readiness.
β’ Cooperate with FHS Department Heads in developing school-wide programs.
β’ Collaborate with Director of Community Resource Development to ensure continuity between in-school and before and after-school programming with respect to college and career readiness.
β’ Attend meetings as needed or scheduled.
β’ Work with area colleges to build relationships for dual enrollment and internship/externship opportunities.
β’ Take advantage of appropriate professional development opportunities to stay current in the field of college and career readiness, to include local and national events and conferences.
β’ Attend meetings with community partners, to include local colleges and community organizations.
β’ Participate in DESE driven and sponsored initiatives.
β’ Establish and maintain relationships with college admissions offices, recruiters from two and four year colleges, trade schools, military, gap-year and other alternative programs.
β’ Respond to parent inquiries about CCR.
β’ Participate in community programs when appropriate.
β’ Participate in other school programs for parents.
β’ Organize college information programs, including financial aid
