Golden Anniversary Celebration Planned for Dunning Elementary

A celebration is planned on Sunday, June 14 to mark the 50th Anniversary of the naming of the Charlotte A. Dunning Elementary School.

Dunning Elementary School will celebrate its 50th Anniversary Sunday.

Originally called Frost Elementary School, the K-5 school was renamed Charlotte A. Dunning Elementary School in 1965.

It was re-named in honor of Charlotte Alyosia Dunning, who served on the Board of Public Welfare for 35 years, 30 years as Chair.

To celebrate the Golden Anniversary, the school is holding a celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 14. There will be a student art presentation, sharing of Dunning memories and more.
