Framingham First Committee members debated the Town Moderator and Town Meeting Rules Committee Chair over which form of government would best serve the Town of Framingham Sunday morning at the Temple Beth Am Brotherhood breakfast.

Town Moderator Teri Banerjee and Town Meeting member Joel Winett supported the current Town type of government, which includes a Town Manager, 5 Selectmen and elected Town Meeting members.

Framingham First committee members John Stefanini and Town Meeting member Janet Leombruno discussed the need for a Charter Commission to explore all options, including a city form of government.

Framingham First is trying to gather 6,000 signatures by the end of this year, so voters in the Spring of 2016 can decide if they wish to create a 9-member, elected Charter Commission to study Framingham form of government and make possible changes to residents to vote on in spring 2017.
