Late Goal Lifts Framingham State To Victory

With the win, the Rams improve to 4-7-1 on the year and are now 3-1 in the conference.

The Framingham State University men’s soccer team cracked into the scoring column with less than five minutes remaining in the game as the Rams defeated Westfield State University 1-0 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer action at Maple Street Fieldin Framingham Saturday.

With the win, the Rams improve to 4-7-1 on the year and are now 3-1 in the conference.

The loss drops the Owls to 5-7 overall.

Freshman Ken Stahovish fed a pass to classmate Lucas Medeiros at the top of the box. Medeiros fired a long strike finding the back of the net for his first collegiate goal and the game winner.

The Rams outshot the Owls 26-14 in the game, but the Owls held a slim 7-5 edge in corner kicks. Junior Josh Arno earned the victory for the Rams making six saves and improving his season mark to 5-7.

Alex Kraver took the loss in net for the Owls despite making eight saves and allowing just the single goal.

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday evening when they entertain Keene State in a non-conference game beginning at 7.
