Main Street Detours - Both During the Day and At Night

Roadwork also will continue on Salem End Road and Temple Street, so expect delays there too.

The following is an update on construction project for both the Town of of Framingham and MassDOT for the week of July 27-31.

The contractor will continue to install water services on Main Street between Walnut Street and Union Avenue.

A detour will be in place Monday-Friday 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on this section of the roadway.

Please seek alternate route. Expect delays.

Night work will continue Sunday-Thursday 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Main Street between Union Avenue and High Street.

There will be a detour in place for southbound traffic only onto Franklin Street back onto Union Avenue at Mt. Wayte Avenue. Expect delays.

CENTRAL STREET BRIDGE OVER THE SUDBURY RIVER: Major demolition and reconstruction of the bridge will continue. Traffic will continue to be detoured over the Wickford Road Bridge. Please allow additional travel time.

COBURN STREET AREA: The contractor will continue drain pipe and structure work on Cypress Street and Cedar Street. Sidewalk excavation and curbing work will continue in the area as well. Expect delays.

CONCORD STREET (Route 126) DOWNTOWN FRAMINGHAM RECONSTRUCTION: The MassDOT contractor will continue construction activities on Hollis Street, Concord Street and Irving Street. Expect moderate delays and on-street parking restrictions.

ELM STREEET: The new hybrid pedestrian crossing signals have been activated.

EVERSOURCE DOWNTOWN UTILITY PROJECT: The contractor will continue night work Monday through Friday evening, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Concord Street just south of the rotary and begin manhole installations on Hollis Street near Claflin Street. Expect moderate delays.

HERBERT STREET/IRVING STREET/LORING DRIVE: The contractor will continue sidewalk and curbing work along Irving Street and Loring drive. Expect moderate delays.

NICHOLAS ROAD: Milling of the roadway. Expect moderate delays.

OLD WORCESTER ROAD AREA: Sidewalk restoration work will continue. Expect minimal delays.

ROUTE 9 BRIDGE OVER FOSS RESERVOIR OUTLET: A mid-week changeover of work zones will take place so that construction can continue on the middle section of the bridge. The westbound pedestrian sidewalk will remain closed. Expect moderate delays.

SALEM END ROAD AND TEMPLE STREET: Roadwork will continue in the area. Expect delays.

WATER STREET: The contractor will continue sidewalk work on river side (west). Expect minimal delays.

WINTER STREET BRIDGE OVER CSX: The MassDOT contractor will continue work on the temporary sewer bypass and prepare the site for construction to begin. Expect minimal delays.
