Potter Road Student Wins State Art Award
The first grade student received the Sargent Art Elementary Art Award during the 2014-15 school year.

Potter Road first grade student Katie Wang received the Sargent Art Elementary Art Award at the National Art Education Association Youth Art Month Exhibition.
The state-wide show included student work from grades K-12, across the Commonwealth.
Artwork from eight Potter Road School students was included in the show.

Wang’s mixed-media piece, “O’Keeffe Inspired Sunflowers,” was selected from artwork submitted by art teachers from 60 Massachusetts communities.
The state-wide exhibition is held annually at the state transportation building in Boston.

Wang’s accomplishment was celebrated on Family Day, where she was presented with her award, and art supplies from Sargent Art, said her art teacher Donna Maxwell.
Wang was also recognized by the Framingham School Committee in May.
