Roads Closed In Framingham After Severe Storms Strike

Framingham was tracking serious storm damage in neighborhoods north of Route 9 Tuesday afternoon.

FRAMINGHAM, MA β€” Several Framingham neighborhoods were damaged Tuesday afternoon when a band of severe thunderstorms swept across the region, forcing several road closures.

As of 4 p.m., Central Street was closed westbound from Summer Street and eastbound from Prospect Street. Edgell Road heading toward Sudbury was also closed near Belknap Road.

Framingham crews were responding to multiple reports of downed trees and limbs, according to the city's Twitter account.

Framingham and other nearby communities are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. The storm was packing 60 mph winds, rain and hail.
