UPDATED: Selectman Mike Bower Safe, Calls for Prayers for Victims
Framingham Selectman Mike Bower has checked in with friends and is safe following the explosions at the Boston Marathon. He has posted a statement on his FB page as well.

Mike Bowers, a member of the Framingham Board of Selectmen, has reported to friends he is safe, according to a Facebook post.
In an update on his site, he said the following:
"I want to let you know I am safe. All cellular activity in Boston was shut down due to the terrorist attack at today's Boston Marathon. I have tried to get word out through family and friends that I am safe. I now have internet access. Please join me in praying for the victims of this hideous crime. I was just leaving Kenmore Square heading to the finish line when the blasts occurred. The race was stopped when I got to the Mass Ave. underpass. .75 miles from the finish. My friend John was in the grandstand across from where the explosions occurred. He witnessed the horrific carnage but he is safe. I am still shaken and will post another update later. For now, our thoughts and prayers must be with the victims and their families."
Other runners whose friends reported them as being fine are: Ed Stoll, Jeffrey Hoglund, Marc Jobin, Katie Towle, Julie Westberg-Tambascio, Karen Checani Rothwell, Teresa Carney, Leah Allekian, Michelle McElroy, Jamie Tighe, Kelly Garofalo, and Peter Gould.
