Traffic Alert: Where You Will Encounter Road Work in Framingham

Below is a list of construction projects in Framingham by both the Town and MassDOT.

The construction work for the week of Oct. 12, is weather permitting.

• AUBURN STREET: Contractors will continue sidewalk curbing. Expect minimal traffic impacts.
• BELKNAP ROAD: It is anticipated that a SAMI (Stress Absorbing Membrane Application) and NovaChip roadway application will be applied. Expect significant delays.
• BROWNLEA ROAD, LACLEDE AVENUE AND OLD CONNECTICUT PATH: Eversource will be replacing gas main and services during the day in the area. Work will be performed in the overnight hours of 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the main tie-in to Old Connecticut Path early in the week. Expect delays.
• CENTRAL STREET BRIDGE OVER THE SUDBURY RIVER: Construction of the new bridge will continue. Traffic will continue to be detoured over the Wickford Road Bridge. Please allow additional travel time.
• COBURN STREET/WINTHROP STREET AREA: Contractors will be milling the roadway on Cedar Street. Seek an alternate route if possible. Expect significant delays.
• CREST ROAD: It is anticipated that a SAMI and NovaChip roadway application will be applied to the roadway. Expect significant delays.
• DOWNTOWN FRAMINGHAM RECONSTRUCTION: Sidewalk work will continue on the north side of Howard Street and on the east side of Concord Street. In addition, the contractor will continue with the installation of traffic signal and street lighting poles in the Downtown area. Expect moderate delays and on-street parking restrictions.
• EVERSOURCE DOWNTOWN UTILITY PROJECT: The contractor will continue nighttime conduit installation on Waverly Street, Tuesday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Expect moderate delays.
• GATES STREET: It is anticipated that a SAMI and NovaChip roadway application will be applied to the roadway. Expect significant delays.
• LAKE ROAD AND OLD CONNECTICUT PATH: Eversource will be replacing gas main and services during the day in the area. Expect delays.
• MAIN STREET: Utility contractors will continue construction work on Granite Street, Maple Street and Moulton Park Road. Traffic plans may include one-way alternating traffic and/or detours. Expect traffic delays on affected roadways. Police details will be on site to facilitate traffic. In addition, Eversource Gas will be working on Main Street between the intersection of Walnut Street and Union Avenue.
• ROUTE 9 BRIDGE OVER FOSS RESERVOIR OUTLET: Construction continues on the middle section of the bridge. The westbound pedestrian sidewalk will remain closed. Expect moderate delays.One lane may be closed.
  
• WATER STREET: Contractors will be installing new street lights near the intersection of Central Street. Expect minimal delays.
• WOODMERE ROAD: It is anticipated that a SAMI and NovaChip roadway application will be applied this week. Expect significant delays.
