You Are Special: Megan Maguire

Megan Maguire was one of 23 Framingham School employees honored at the 23rd Annual Salute to Framingham.

The annual Salute program recognizes Framingham teachers and staff who go the extra mile to make each day “special” in our public schools. These teachers and staff are given a “You Are Special” designation and are publicly recognized as part of the Salute to Framingham.

Megan Maguire is a passionate educator whose guiding question is: “What’s in the best interest of kids?” She dedicates herself to the Cameron students- working tirelessly with the staff to ensure that all students are given the opportunity to be successful.

Megan goes way above her role of Math Department Head, making connections with the high school to bring Cameron alumni back to speak to our students, planning trips to local colleges so Cameron students will begin thinking about their futures, inviting retired engineers to Cameron to provide tutoring during our intervention
block, and finally, leading the school and district through her willingness to pilot new programs, try new initiatives, and advocate publicly for what the students most need.

Her colleagues would describe her as a team player, problem-solver, and thoughtful supervisor, carefully reflecting on feedback that will be most beneficial to help them grow.

Megan is an integral part of the Cameron Leadership team, collaborating to promote a positive and supportive environment, while encouraging high expectations for all teachers and students. Cameron Middle School staff and students are very lucky to have her! Megan Maguire – You Are Special!
