5 Things Holliston Wants For Christmas
Here are some things Holliston residents are looking for in the next year. Did we miss something? Add it to the comments.

The Christmas season is a time of the year where people focus on giving back to the community and giving gifts to other people. Today however, we’re focusing on what the town of Holliston should be receiving. Here’s a list of five things Holliston wants under its Christmas tree.
1. A Safer Downtown: The study has been completed and one thing was clear. Downtown Holliston isn't efficient and it isn't terribly safe either. What wasn't clear was the solution. One Holliston Patch Facebook reader suggested traffic lights at the Hollis Street and Central Street intersections. Hopefully a suitable solution will be underway by this time next year.
2. Development at the Andrews School: The school has stood vacant for many years, but there are people who are looking to see it used again soon. "Some little shops and stuff. Massage, small offices, classes for adults. The playground would make an excellent parking lot," one Facebook friend said. There is also a group looking to create a community center in town and they will surely consider the property down the road.

3. The New K9 Unit: The money has been raised and the dog and officer are in training. Just this week the dog got a tour of Town Hall. In the coming months the dog will begin its time on patrol around town.
4. More TV Shows About Town: and American Chainsaw staring Jesse 'the machine' Green, have put the town in TV exec's heads, but who wouldn't want more? Do you have a show idea to pitch? Now, it seems, is the time to starting working on it.

5. A Break From Politics: 2012 was a trying year for politics in town and across the nation. Carolyn Dykema's re-election campaign against Marty Lamb turned neighbor against neighbor and Mitt Romney's try against President Barack Obama split the country in half. It's only a matter of time until the 2016 election starts, but maybe they'll wait until 2014.
