Christmas in July for Project Just Because; Information on Jobs at Foxwoods Massachusetts

1. Project Just Because will host an annual fundraiser, Christmas in July, at 86 South St. in Hopkinton from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday. The fee is $35 in advance, $40 at the door (tax deductible). The night includes a silent auction, entertainment and hors' doeuvres. 

2. The free concert in Goodwill Park, by the HolliRockers, was cancelled Tuesday due to rain, but will be rescheduled for later in August.

3. An informational meeting on economic impacts of the proposed Milford casino, including the impacts on town services, and on local businesses, will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Milford Town Hall. The first hour is for Milford residents who didn't get a chance at the last meeting to ask questions about impacts on water. Holliston and Hopkinton residents can attend these forums, but can't ask questions.

4. Foxwoods Massachusetts, throughout the day Wednesday, will host informational meetings for area residents who want to ask about its employment options. The casino will bring in its Connecticut-based employees who will talk about their job descriptions, what their career paths were like, and other information about working at a casino. The sessions will be held at the casino's storefront location on Main Street in Milford.
