Foxborough Votes Down Casino Negotiations
Chances of Milford casino up amid mounting public pressure in Foxborough.

Foxborough selectmen voted Tuesday night to refuse negotiations with Steve Wynn, a Las Vegas mogul who hopes to build a resort casino in the town which has actively protested such a facility for weeks, the Boston Globe reports.
Public pressure mounted as hundreds of residents filed into the Selectman's meeting and spoke out against the casino, resulting in a 3-2 vote against the proposal.
While the vote is a blow to a Foxborough casino, it does not kill the proposed $1 billion resort. Planners could try to appeal directly to residents to sway public opinion, and use the figure of $10 million in annual tax revenue as a selling point.
