Holliston Police Crack Down on Holiday Drunk Driving

Officers will be out in force to stop drunk driving during the holidays.

Using increased traffic patrols, Holliston Police hope to reduce drunk driving fatalities during the holidays by increasing efforts to put those caught under the influence behind bars.

Holliston Police have joined a national mobilization, "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," which is aimed at increasing drunk driving vigilance.

"There is no holiday cheer behind the bars of a jail cell," Sargent Leurini said in a press release.

59 people were killed in car accidents 2010 that involved someone who was legally drunk, according to the release.

Officers recommend planning a way home before holiday festivities begin, designating a sober driver and calling a taxi if necessary.
