Hopkinton Police Log: Suspicious Lights, Vandalized Mailboxes

Friday, Nov. 2

9:00 a.m.: A caller from a day care on Leon’s Way reported a neighbor speeding down the street in close proximity to children.

3:58 p.m.: A caller from Lumber Street reported that trees that had been knocked down during Sandy were still blocking the roadway near the town line.

8:57 p.m.: A caller from Peppercorn Road reported hearing a loud vehicle and then observing that her mailbox had been smashed by a pumpkin. While responding an officer from the Hopkinton Police Department noted a similar incident on Pond Street. Vandalized mailboxes were also reported on Barbara Road.

Saturday, Nov. 3

1:44 a.m.: An officer took a female in to protective custody on Spring Street.

8:47 a.m.: An officer responded to a report of a white dog running around the track at the Middle School without an owner present. The officer was able to locate the owner of the dog.

9:12 a.m.: An officer assisted the Hopkinton Fire Department with unlocking the gate at the Fruit Street soccer fields.

Sunday, Nov. 4

4:36 a.m.: An officer responded to a head on crash on East Main Street both vehicles were towed and at least one person was taken to the hospital.

12:43 p.m.: An officer took a report of a possible break-in overnight on Rocky Woods Road.

Monday, Nov. 5

2:36 a.m.: An officer reported that he struck and killed a deer on Wood Street.

12:37 a.m.: A resident from Eastview Road reported annoying phone calls from Jamaica.

1:45 p.m.: Officers assisted with a drill on Ash Street.

5:25 p.m.: An officer responded to a minor crash on East Main Street. No injuries were reported.

7:58 p.m.: A caller from Joseph Road reported a neighbor putting up lights in front of his house. An officer checked the area and said everything looked fine.

10:23 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Marshall Ave and arrested Tova I. Diamond, 53, of 227 Stonebridge Rd., Wayland. Diamond was charged with drunken-driving and marked lanes violation.

10:49 p.m.: An officer assisted a resident on Wedgewood Drive with a bird in her garage.
