Man, Dog Die In Two-Alarm House Fire In Hopkinton
The fire broke out just after 1 a.m. Sunday. A woman was also seriously injured in the blaze.
HOPKINTON, MA — A man and a dog died, and a woman was seriously injured, in a two-alarm house fire early Sunday in Hopkinton.
The fire broke out just after 1 a.m. Sunday along Hayward Street, according to the fire department. Firefighters entered the home and found the man in a hallway and the woman in a bedroom. Both were described as senior citizens.
The man was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The woman as also taken to the Milford hospital, but was then taken to a hospital in Boston for treatment, according to the department.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation as of 8 a.m. Sunday. The department noted that there were no smoke detectors in the home.
Firefighters from Ashland, Milford, Westborough, Southborough, Upton, Medway and Hopedale all assisted with the fire.
