Police Respond to Replica Firearm Incident at Holliston High

One person has been charged after Holliston Police began an investigation in to the report of a weapon being brought on to property at the High School.

According to Police Chief John Moore, Thursday afternoon around 4:30 one student was seen on the fields with an airsoft gun in violation of several rules and laws.

The juvenile was allegedly on the fields with another minor who reported the incident an hour later.

"One of the big things we want people to take away from this is to call right away," Moore said.

The minor who was on the fields reported feeling threatened and has since taken out a restraining order against the youth who was brandishing to gun.

Police are still investigating the incident but they have taken the gun, a replica Beretta pistol, in to evidence.

"It looks and weighs the same as a real Beretta, the orange tip had been removed," Moore said.

Two of the laws the juvenile allegedly broke include possession of an airsoft gun by a person under 18 without supervision and possession of a weapon on school property.

The incident is still under investigation by the Holliston Police Department.

Airsoft guns are often replicas of real firearms. They shoot plastic projectiles and are often used in competitions similar to paintball. The gun in question was fired using a spring-loaded mechanism.
