said: "Hi John- Great story. My memory of the Bowditch field game is a little different. I was a sophmore playing on the JV squad. As you probably remember, Coach Caito dressed everybody for varsity games; part of his psych-out strategy. I remember watching the Boston Trade players getting off the bus and they were monsters...big city kids. Cecil recalls the conditions as sloppy, but I remember them as being frozen solid. The field had been played on when it was muddy and then froze hard, leaving us a cratered surface. Cleats would not dig in and falling to the ground was like hitting the parking lot. I was not good enough to play in a varsity game in 1971 but the game was so lopsided and the conditions so terrible that a few of us got to play. I remember in the 4th quarter guys like Donny Peterson were asking the coach for a break; they had been hitting that frozen ground all day. I knew if Hammer needed a break it would be bad, and it was. Cecil's comments bring back great memories of the victory rides and the bat caves. Jeff Marchand, Class of '74"

said: "I agree, Scott Brown's voting record against Massachusetts jobs is directly conflicting with what he says he supports. Mr. Brown also voted against extending unemployment benefits, and to cut Pell grants for 135,000 students in the Commonwealth. I'm looking forward to supporting someone this year who actually stands for the middle class."

said: "It is a shame that Scott Brown did not support the Teachers and First Responders Back to Work Act. This paired with the block on the American Jobs Act shows that he cares more about partisan politics than his constituents in Massachusetts. His vote against the Employment Non-Discrimination Act is an attack upon the rights of employees discriminated against because of gender identity or sexual orientation. The Senator clearly does not have his priorities straight and will not protect the civil rights, economy or jobs of the citizens of the Commonwealth. Vote for the right candidate this November."

said: "When Scott Brown voted to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell and stand up for equal rights for soldiers who happen to be gay like myself...I thought...hey we might actually have a Republican in Mass who will stand up us. Oh, boy was I wrong. Vote after vote Scott Brown has stood up for Wall Street and big banks and has refused to sand up for the middle class voters of our state. I'm excited about the opportunity to vote for someone who will stand up for me across the board."
