6 Malden Firefighters Honored For Actions At Revere Fire
Firefighters pulled a resident from a burning building in Revere Aug. 5.

MALDEN, MA — Malden Mayor Gary Christenson recently paid tribute to six Malden firefighters who helped rescue a person from a fire in Revere Aug. 5. The firefighters were covering for the Revere Fire Department, who were at the scene of another fire at the same time.
Malden's Engine 4 and Ladder 1 found "an intense volume of fire consuming the rear of a wood-frame, multi-occupancy, residential building" on Mooney Road in Revere, city officials said. As crews battled the fire, they saw a resident attempting to break out of a window on the second floor.
Both crews brought their ladders to the window and pulled the man to safety as the fire advanced toward the room.
