Everett Man Suspected In East Boston Armed Robberies

An Everett man was arrested Sunday and charged with an April 21 robbery. Investigators believe he's responsible for three others this year.

BOSTON, MA — An Everett man was arrested Sunday and charged in a robbery in East Boston earlier this month. Police believe he may be tied to several more in the area.

Diego Dasilva, 31, was arrested on Harvard Street by the ATF and police from Chelsea, Everett and Boston. He was charged in an April 21 armed robbery in East Boston, police said.

Investigators said Dasilva entered a store on Bennington Street around 9:30 p.m. April 21, passed the clerk a note and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk told officers Dasilva showed a gun in his waistband, police said. DaSilva took the cash and fled in an unknown direction, police said.

A gun was found under the driver's seat in Dasilva's car when he was arrested Sunday, according to police. Investigators believe he is responsible for armed robberies in East Boston on Jan. 13, March 10 and April 14, police said.

Dasilva will be arraigned Monday in East Boston District Court on a charge of armed robbery.
