Malden Coronavirus: 9 Confirmed Cases, 57 'Presumed'
Health officials said exposure is likely from interpersonal contact at this point and urged residents to practice social distancing.
MALDEN, MA — There are nine confirmed cases of COVID-19, the illness associated with the coronavirus, in Malden, Public Health Director Chris Webb said Monday. There are an additional 57 "presumed" cases and 21 people who are being isolated due to contact with those residents, Webb said.
Exposure is more than likely from interpersonal contact at this point, according to health officials. The Health Department said all quarantine protocols and precautionary measures are being followed among positive and presumed cases.
Residents are asked to continue to avoid gatherings, practice social distancing, wash hands and sanitize surfaces frequently. Residents who feel sick should consult a medical professional immediately.
