Malden Police Department Welcomes 5 New Members
The department recently swore in four new officers and hired a new firearms licensing clerk.
MALDEN, MA — The Malden Police Department recently welcomed some new faces. On Friday, it swore in four new police officers – Daniel Sylva, Andy Chen, Joseph Martinez and Blake Ferry.
Chief Kevin Molis was joined by City Clerk Greg Lucey, who administered the oath in front of family and friends.

The department also hired Manaxthona Norelus as its new firearms licensing clerk. Norelus is fluent in English, Haitian Creole and French and brings a "tremendous amount of skills and abilities" in providing this important service to residents, the department said in a statement.
