READER MEGAPOLL: Mitt Romney Wins MA Primary

Romney cast his vote in his hometown of Belmont today.

UPDATE: Mitt Romney has won the Massachusetts primary, CNN reports. Malden Patch will have updates on local results as they become available around 9:30 p.m. this evening. 

The governor has also won contests in Vermont and Virginia. 

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has been declared the winner in Georgia.

Voters in Massachusetts will head to the polls this "Super Tuesday", with candidates vying for delegates in 10 simultaneous primaries and caucuses across the country. 

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Texas Congressman Ron Paul are all still vying for the Republican nomination.

President Obama faces no official challenge to his presumed nomination for re-election later this year. 

While Super Tuesday is a key date in the race for the nomination, it is not necessarily decisive: plenty of states will vote after March 6, including delegate-rich states like New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois and California.
