Self-Defense Classes For Women Coming To Marlborough

The Marlborough Police Department will be hosting the sessions starting this month.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — The Marlborough Police Department will be hosting a self-defense class for women later this month.

The R.A.D. program, which is meant to teach basic physical self-defense to women, will kick off on Monday, Jan. 26. The sessions will focus on defense tactics and help build confidence, police said.

There will be four classes held on Monday nights: Jan. 26, Feb. 2, Feb. 9, and Feb. 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Marlborough Police Station, 355 Bolton St.

Interested students should bring comfortable clothing, sneakers and water. The amount of physical activity will increase during each class session, as participants will demonstrate kicks, punches, blocks and strikes

The class is free, but will be limited to 12 women. Each participant must attend all four classes.
