$32K+ Raised For Woman Injured In Medford Hit-And-Run

A GoFundMe page will go toward the medical expenses of a 22-year-old woman who was struck while getting out of a ride-share Saturday night.

MEDFORD, MA — A GoFundMe campaign is raising money to support the recovery of a woman seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Medford Saturday night.

Police said the 22-year-old was struck by a passing car while she and her boyfriend were getting out of a ride-share vehicle. The collision happened around on Harvard Street around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

According to the GoFundMe page, the woman suffered a traumatic brain injury and has been in the ICU since Saturday night.

"Her road to a full recovery will likely be a long one involving extended hospital stays, potential surgeries, and physical therapy," Catherine Collins, who organized the campaign, wrote.

More than $32,000 had been raised as of 9:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the suspected driver in the hit-and-run has turned himself in, and investigators have recovered the car involved in the collision.
