Proposed Law Would Ban All Workplace Abuse: The State Legislature is looking at expanding law to protect all employees from bullying and harrassment – regardless of their race, gender or sexual orientation – from not only employers, but from co-workers as well. According to the Healthy Workplace bill, which passed the House and is now in that chamber's committee for a third reading, upwards of 59 percent of employees experience bullying or abuse on the job.

'Circle the Square' to Bring Arts, Music, Food to Medford Square: A new monthly program starting this week will bring music and arts to Medford Square through October. On the third Thursday of each month between July and October Circle the Square will bring music, art, food trucks, activities and other free entertainment to Medford Square. The program created by CACHE, the Coalition for Arts, Culture, and a Healthy Economy in Medford, and it's designed to make Medford Square a destination and make local entertainment accessible to all. It kicks off this Thursday, July 19. It runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Democrat Medford City Councilor Throws Support to Scott Brown: A self-described lifelong Democrat, Medford City Councilor Rick Caraviello announced his support for the re-election of Republican U.S. Senator Scott Brown Monday. Brown and Caraviello spent Monday morning touring businesses and shaking hands with passersby in West Medford and Medford Square. Caraviello, owner and founder of R.C. Limo Service, said he's supporting Brown because he is tired of federal regulations and taxes on small businesses.
