Good morning, here are five things to know today:
A man who allegedly blackmailed a Medford teen into having sex with him was arraigned in Superior Court on eight charges Thursday. Bail was set at $5,000 for Thomas Hutchinson, 19, of Tewksbury, according to a press release from the office of Middlesex County Attorney Gerry Leone. Hutchinson allegedly used multiple aliases through a social networking site to coerce a 15-year-old Medford girl to send him nude photos. He used to photos to blackmail the girl into having sex with him, prosecutors said.
2. Good Weather Weekend: It's expected to be partly sunny with highs around 50 today, according to the National Weather Service. It's expected to be sunny Saturday and Sunday with highs around 40 degrees.

Americans everywhere marked the 70th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack this week - and at least one Medford native is among the dwindling few who were actually there that day. Dorothy (Munn) Lyons, a native of Medford who now lives at in Lynnfield, was a nurse stationed at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, when the Japanese struck in a surprise attack that brought the U.S. into World War II.
Through Dec. 26, you can nominate your home by uploading a photo to the contest entry form on the site. During that same time period you and your neighbors will also be able to vote for your favorite festive home. The winning entry will be forwarded to a national Patch judge that will select 24 finalists. Each finalist will receive $500 that they can apply to their December electric bill.

As demolition work goes on inside 21 Main Street, Maury Carroll continues to work on the permitting process for the new Carroll's restaurant planned to open there. Carroll's will feature about a 140-seat capacity, a bar area and three large windows facing the Mystic River, Carroll said in a phone interview Wednesday. , but it's going to take a little longer to get everything in order, he said. "We'd like to open at the end of January," Carroll said. "That may be in a perfect world. When you're building, you’re at everybody’s mercy."
