Bicyclist Hit by Truck in Cambridge

A bicyclist was struck by a tractor trailer Thursday morning in an area around MIT.

Cambridge police spokesman Jeremy Warnick said the accident occurred at 8:21 a.m. when the truck was turning into Sidney Street and the cyclist was on Mass Ave. The bicyclist was transported to a hospital with leg injuries. The injuries were non life-threatening.

Cambridge police reported traffic delays in the area this morning after the accident. The driver of the truck remained on scene and an investigation will determine whether the driver will be cited, Warnick said.
