Car Destroyed by Fire in Everett; Arson Suspected
A car parked at 51 Autumn Street suddenly went up in flames Thursday morning. Police and fire officials are investigating.

Massachusetts State Police say a car was intentionally set on fire Thursday morning in Everett.
Officials responded to a home on 51 Autumn Street and found a Ford Focus completely charred by fire. Investigators at the scene learned there may have been an attempt to light the house on fire as well.

“There are signs there may have also been an attempt to light the house on fire,” a statement released by the fire marshall’s office read.
Neighbors say they were suddenly awoken around 5:30 a.m. by what sounded like an explosion. Many saw flames shooting from the vehicle.

Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set, state police said. The search for a suspect is currently underway.
