What New Business is Opening on Middlesex Ave.?

The Medford City Council granted a common victualler license Tuesday for a new sandwich shop at 213 Middlesex Ave. that will replace Kennedy Fried Chicken & Pizza.

Mark's Sandwich Shop has listed owners as Therese Gigliotti and Mark E. Reading, according filings with the state Secretary of State's office.

Gigliotti, a Medford resident, told the council the hours of the new store will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Gigliotti indicated the shop will have a "scratch kitchen" in addition to a basic menu where customers will be able to order any kind of sandwich they'd like.

City Councilor Michael Marks joked that because the store will sell a quality product because "it bears my name."
