Robert Fitzpatrick denies lying on the stand during the 2013 Whitey Bulger trial.

The former FBI special agent accused of repeatedly lying under oath during the 2013 racketeering trial of Whitey Bulger pleaded not guilty to the 12 charges related to his alleged fibs at his arraignment Thursday afternoon.

Sources at the Boston Globe and WHD Channel 7 say Robert Fitzpatrick was released after posting a$50,000 bond. In addition, he is obligated to surrender the three guns he owns to law enforcement in Charlestown, RI, his town of residence.

If convicted, he could serve as much as five years for each of his six perjury charges, and a maximum of 10 years for each of his six obstruction charges.
