Medford City Councilor Rick Caraviello Announces Re-Election Bid
Caraviello, currently in his 10th year on the city council, has served in various leadership roles, including three terms as president.

MEDFORD, MA — City Council President Richard Caraviello announced his campaign for re-election Thursday.
Caraviello, currently in his 10th year on the city council, has served in various leadership positions, including three terms as president. He also chairs the Committees on Military & Veterans Affairs and the Ad Hoc Lawrence Memorial Hospital Committee and serves as the council's liaison to Tufts University.
"I'm honored and privileged to have served the people of Medford for the past ten years, an era of unprecedented growth and resurgence in our community," Caraviello said. "I am proud of my track record of bridge-building and consensus minded collaborative leadership, effectively working with three different mayoral administrations to get the job done. I enthusiastically announce my candidacy for reelection to the Medford City Council, and I look forward to serving with distinction for another term in office. I remain as energized and committed for this responsibility as my first day in office."

Caraviello is a former president and executive director of the Chamber of Commerce. He also served as president of the Medford Kiwanis and Medford Youth Hockey and is a volunteer at the Mystic Valley Food Bank and other charitable endeavors.
Caraviello helped drive the funding and establishment of a new state-of-the-art library and media center, now in its final stages of completion, and played key roles in the construction of a new police station, educational opportunities for the public schools, transit-oriented economic development, long-term capital investment in upgrading public safety and public works infrastructure, and advocacy for the senior community.

He pledges to "continue my core political philosophy; working directly for the people."
"I'm involved full time in this responsibility, and this job is not a stepping stone for some higher office," Caraviello said. "It’s my life’s passion is to be your Medford city councilor. While we have achieved a lot in the last ten years, there’s a lot more to accomplish, and with your help, we can go even further!"
