Medford High robotics team wins third place in New England tourney

The Medford High School Robotics team won three awards and came home with a top three finish in a New England regional tournament on April 3

The Medford High School Robotics team won three awards and came home with a top three finish in a New England regional tournament on April 30.

The team participated in the Botball Robotics Tournament at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell advised by mathematics teacher Barbara Chyen and with support from Midé Technology of Medford.

In the early rounds, the team took second place and received a Judges Award for team spirtit. Overall, the team finished in third place in a seventeen team field. The overall score was based on a weighted formula which combined online documentations, onsite presentation, morning seeding rounds and afternoon double elimination rounds.

Members of Medford High School’s Robotics team are seniors Serena Do and Chris Ellis, juniors Joseph Farah, Scott McGoldrick, Matthew Avella, and Ronaldson Bellande, sophomore Scott Ranjanathan and freshmen Ethan Medeiros and Darwin Do.
