Medford Kicking Off Pride Month With Two Events On June 2

The 2022 flag raising ceremony will begin at 2:45 on the City Hall lawn.

MEDFORD, MA — The City of Medford is kicking off Pride Month with two events on Thursday, June 2, said Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Frances Nwajei in a statement.

The 2022 flag raising ceremony will begin at 2:45 on the City Hall lawn and feature Gigi Gill, the “Official Gay Queen of Salem, MA,” as well as remarks by:

  • Mayor Lungo-Koehn
  • Medford High School GSA
  • Medford Poet Laureate Terry Carter

The Pride Flag will be flown from the City Hall flag pole throughout the month of June.

Celebrations will continue at Carroll’s Restaurant at 7 p.m. for “Dinner, Drinks, & Drag.” This event is for anyone ages 18 and older. The event will feature performances by:

  • Luke Warm
  • Sham Payne
